The president of the Association of European Regions for origin products (AREPO), Tiberio Rabboni, welcomes some of the innovations introduced by the Trilogue of EU on quality products and geographical indications within the reform of the Common agricultural Policy (CAP): “While these agreements have to be ratified and they hold only partially account all AREPO‘s requests, we consider very positive the possibility for producers of ham DOP and IGP to manage production volumes within the CMO and also the come back of the possibility to finance promotional activities for quality productions in the EAFRD”. AREPO hope, in the wake of the approval of regulations and delegated acts, that further improvements can be introduced to support the products under geographical indications.
