On 29 May in Villa Manin (Udine) was held the conference on “Quality Certification Systems”, organized by the Regional Agency for Rural Development of Friuli Venezia Giulia (ERSA) and dedicated to the role of regional quality certifications with respect to consumer protection and production valorization.
The first part of the day was focused on the analysis of existing quality schemes for the agricultural sector at European, national and regional level, with the intervention of the representatives of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and of the Ministry of Economic Development. The National Institute of Agricultural Economics (INEA) of Friuli Venezia Giulia has introduced an analysis of the regional agri-food sector, completed by the presentation of the Collective Quality Brand “AQUA”, guaranteed by Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. AREPO contributed to this first part of the conference presenting its experience in the valorization of quality food productions of European regions and analyzing the quality policy of the European Union in the agri-food sector.
The exchange of good practices and regional experiences on the topic of quality certifications has occupied the afternoon, with the presentations of regional brands of Toscana, Veneto and Marche. Finally, the conference has ensured a comprehensive analysis of the topic, including the perspective of producers, accreditation and supervisory bodies and consumers.
